I am running for election to the ILO Staff Union Committee to put my experience and commitment at the service of all colleagues, and to continue defending their interests while respecting and valuing our diversity.
If elected, I pledge to uphold ethics, good governance, equity, social justice, transparency, equality, respect, and solidarity as the guiding principles of my work. I will dedicate my efforts to improving and promoting social justice and equal employment conditions for all employees, in pursuit of a unified and fair ILO.
I am committed to continuing constructive negotiations with the Administration, acting as a strong and reliable partner while staying true to our mandate.
My priority will always be you, our colleagues in the field and at headquarters, regardless of contract type or source of funding. You will remain at the centre of the Staff Union Committee’s concerns and activities.
I will continue working to secure the best possible conditions of employment and work within the ILO, ensuring that they serve as a model for the entire UN system.
Together with federations, staff unions, and associations across UN agencies, I will strive to strengthen social dialogue, safeguard a coherent common system, and improve working and employment conditions across the broader U.N. family.
As coordinator of Union Representatives at the ILO and substitute for both the Arab countries and Europe, I have witnessed firsthand the vital need for solidarity, dialogue, and strong staff representation, especially in times of profound change. The current reform process is transforming the ILO at every level, generating many questions and real concerns among colleagues. I am deeply committed to ensuring these transformations do not undermine our core values: fairness, inclusion, staff well-being, and meaningful social dialogue.
Having supported union reps on the ground and at headquarters, I believe in collective intelligence and open communication across all regions. My experience has shown me that when we bring together the voices and lived realities of colleagues from all backgrounds, we find solutions rooted in both
experience and shared purpose.
Now, more than ever, the ILO needs representatives who are not just defenders-but builders: people ready to engage, to listen, and to help shape reforms for the real benefit of staff and the Organization as a whole. My candidacy is guided by a single conviction: in the face of change, we must be part of the solution, not bystanders. I wish to serve as a bridge, advocate, and partner for all colleagues as we navigate this crucial period and build a
fairer, stronger ILO together.
These are difficult times…
With the uncertainty of two scenarios proposed to the Governing Body, both of which would have a significant impact on staff working conditions.
I have once again decided to run as a candidate in the Staff Union Committee elections, because I have extensive experience within the Union, which I believe can be very helpful in these times of consultations and negotiations, to safeguard the interests of my colleagues.
My union experience is mainly in Human Resources matters. I have served as Coordinator of the Recruitment and Selection Group for over 10 years, and I have been a member of the Recruitment, Assignment and Mobility Committee (RAMC) since its inception in 2015, first as an Adviser and currently as a full member, representing the Committee.
I also have experience in diversity and international relations, having participated in missions representing the ILO Staff Union Committee at meetings of the Coordinating Committee for International Staff Unions and Associations (CCISUA).
If elected, I commit to continuing to defend the rights and interests of ILO staff, ensuring equal treatment and opportunities, in a fair, inclusive, and respectful working environment.

As I come towards the completion of my second term serving you on the SU committee, I can see how much there remains to do and with this in mind I would like to put myself forward as a candidate for the upcoming elections to the SU Committee.
During my recent term I was the Assistant General Secretary, and I have been serving on the HQ Committee on Occupational Safety and Health as well as the SU Titular member of the Compensation Committee.
2025 has been an exceptionally busy year for the SU Committee and being honest, as yet I do not see the light at the end of the tunnel, much remains to be done, negotiating with the current Administration is a real challenge the moving goal posts and lack of information do not help in achieving agreements!
As yet nobody knows what 2026 /2027 will bring, on personal or organizational level, but if elected I would be honoured to continue to serve you in the SU committee, bringing a level of continuity (memory) to the ongoing negotiations and within the SU negotiation team.
I have been privileged to serve on the Staff Union Committee for 5 mandates, and over the past 3 years, even more privileged to serve as the Chairperson.
This has been one of the – if not the most – richest and challenging experiences in my professional life but also in my personal life.
Over the past couple of years, we have made improvements on a number of negotiations, including on contract policy, on mobility but also implementing some improvements in the SU functioning, leading to the referendum to change some dimensions of the SU Statutes.
Together with the incredible teams of the SU Committee and the Secretariat, we have also built a strong Committee, and a very strong network of representatives in each ILO constituencies.
2025 has been an exceptionally busy year for the SU Committee, much remains to be done and there are number of issues that continue to be work in progress and would need to be completed before turning the page to a new Chapter.
More than never, we need to bring all our strength together and stand in unity.
With my experience and my desire to continue to be of service to my colleagues, I wish to continue to put my energy, convictions and commitment at the service of our committee. The coming years will undoubtedly be both challenging and decisive for all ILO staff. If you renew your confidence in me, I will be honoured to continue to represent you and defend our rights, so that whatever transition lies ahead is as positive as possible for all staff.
As I conclude more than ten years of commitment within the Staff Union Committee, I wish to stand again as a candidate for the upcoming committee elections.
I have been a staff member of the ILO for 23 years, with five years previously at the Turin Centre, and I have dedicated a large part of my union journey to defending a vision of “One ILO” and equality for all colleagues, regardless of the funding source of their contract. As a staff union representative for my department for about ten years, and a Committee member since 2017, I have been particularly engaged in issues relating to contracts and job security, with a special focus on staff supporting development cooperation.
Like many of you, I myself went through a difficult period this year, marked by the sudden cut in USDOL funding for my project, and the resulting uncertainty both during that time and for the future. These challenges have only strengthened my conviction that solidarity and the collective defence of our rights are essential.
Last June, I was elected General Secretary of the Staff Union by the Committee. Building on this experience and my determination to continue serving my colleagues, I wish to go on contributing my energy, convictions, and commitment to our committee. The coming years will undoubtedly be both challenging and decisive for all ILO staff. If you renew your trust in me, I will be honoured to continue representing you and defending our rights, so that the upcoming transition, whatever form it may take, happens in the most positive way possible for all staff.
As a SU Committee member, I would advocate strongly for inclusive and effective consultations, evidence-based decision making, and a human-centered approach in any efficiency measures.
It would be an honor to serve all ILO colleagues (staff and management, RB/PSI/DC, P and G, and on all contract types and regions) in our efforts to ensure we walk our talk in these times of significant change and challenges for civil servants of international organizations and their families.
I have dedicated the last 20 years of my educational and professional career to support and contribute to the mandate of the UN. My background is in human rights law, and I have had the privilege to serve the mission of the ILO for over 13 years, first at ILO’s Better Factories Cambodia program in Phnom Penh in 2012 and then in operations with PROCUREMENT at HQ.
I work towards responsible spending for a better world through sustainable procurement, ensuring that the ILO walks its talk when doing business with the private sector. This includes operationalizing human rights due diligence, combating human trafficking and forced labour in supply chains, disability inclusion, gender responsiveness, and MSME inclusion.
Building on this experience, I am committed to working with the SU to ensure our workplace serves as a model of decent work and social justice.
Thank you for your consideration.
Dear colleagues,
At the end of my term as treasurer, I wish to stand for re-election in order to continue managing the finances of the ILO Staff Union and to support our future projects. I am motivated to consolidate the work already accomplished and to work with you to meet the challenges of the current period.
With all my energy and commitment.
Periods of uncertainty and difficulty such as these require solidarity among the staff, manifested in a strong, unified Union. Preserving the principle of “ONE ILO” – where staff are treated fairly and equitably, without distinction – will only be achieved through genuine social dialogue. Staff members across departments and around the globe need to see themselves reflected in the Union – not just as members, but in the priorities adopted, and results achieved in their name.
To this end, staff need to know how to influence the Union’s actions, in policy, organizing and mobilization, locally and globally. I am presenting my candidature to the Staff Union Committee motivated by a deep, long-standing, and renewed commitment to these objectives.
With more than 20 years in the ILO, both in HQ and the field, and over a decade of engagement as a Union representative, I will put my experience and energy to use in ensuring that the views of staff are effectively reflected in reforms; an outcome that can only be achieved through good faith negotiation with the legitimate, representative body that has been representing ILO staff since 1920.

I am standing for the Staff Union Committee to help strengthen a constructive and inclusive voice for all colleagues. My experience as Union Steward in the ENTERPRISES Department and in WORKQUALITY, and as former Secretary of the Staff Union Committee in the Arab States, has shown how much can be achieved when dialogue, fairness and solidarity guide our work. Having served at headquarters and in the field, first as a consultant and later as both national and international staff, I have seen the value of participatory ways of working that place people and social justice at the centre, foster trust through openness and accountability, and ensure every colleague can take part in decisions that shape our working lives.
My engagement in elected roles, from university governance to staff representation within the ILO, reflects a long-standing commitment to democratic practice and to cooperative problem-solving grounded in respect, equality and care for colleagues, partners, constituents and the institution we share. If elected, I will work to advance dignified and transparent processes, responsible stewardship of resources, and an organizational culture that supports learning, inclusion and decent work across roles, contract types and duty stations. My approach is collaborative and solution-oriented: listen carefully, engage respectfully and negotiate firmly on the basis of our shared values and staff rights.
I would be honoured to serve on the Staff Union Committee and to contribute to an effective, principled and trusted representation of our common interests. I ask for your support.
