On 27 February 2017, the Director-General met with the Staff Union Committee in Geneva and the Titular staff representatives in the field. The latter responded to all the questions without political cant, and stressed the importance attached to the existing negotiating mechanisms – namely the Joint Negotiating Committee – to address questions relating to the conditions of employment of officials. This meeting has been positive and we hope that the followings will follow the same pattern.
