From 11 to 14 October, the newly elected Staff Union representatives for the Asia and Pacific region were invited to participate in their statutory meeting, which, for the first time, was entirely virtual.
This was an opportunity to address the specific concerns of colleagues and members working in this very large region:
- the need to negotiate a harmonized recruitment and selection throughout the region
- the strengthening of the joint committees (OSH, IRG, etc. …)
- the strengthening of internal social dialogue in all the country offices and at the regional level
It was also an opportunity to build the capacity of newly elected officials so that they are better equipped to fulfil their role as Staff Union representatives.
